The Sow N Grow Writing Lab Series is a three-level writing pathway that supports learners from upper elementary through high school. Each level is intentionally designed to strengthen writing skills, develop expressive voice, deepen creativity, and nurture confident, capable young authors.
Students engage with writing through:

Writing Lab Overviews
WRITING LAB I — Foundations & Blooming Expression
Instructor: Mrs. L. Leonard
Ideal For: Emerging & Developing Writers (K-5th)
Writing Lab I introduces students to the joy and power of writing. Young writers practice crafting clear sentences, building simple paragraphs, and using descriptive language. Activities include storytelling, poetry, informational writing, opinion writing, and seasonal creative projects.
Students learn to:
- Build clear sentences & simple paragraphs
- Add description and sensory detail
- Strengthen writing stamina
- Revise and edit with support
- Share their work with confidence
This lab nurtures strong early writers through playful creativity, hands-on projects, and supportive feedback.
WRITING LAB II — Structure, Style & Storycraft
Instructor: Mrs. L. Hansen
Ideal For: Middle School Level Writers
Writing Lab II teaches students how writing works, how stories are structured, how characters become real, and how style gives writing meaning. Students study story craft, narrative architecture, voice, and multi-paragraph writing.
Students learn to:
- Build compelling characters
- Craft vivid scenes and settings
- Map story arcs & plot structures
- Strengthen voice and style
- Write with clarity and purpose
This lab blends creativity with structure, giving writers the tools to build meaningful stories and stronger compositions.
WRITING LAB III — Advanced Composition & Professional Writing
Instructor: Mrs. Y. Wright
Ideal For: High School Writers & Advanced Middle School Writers
Writing Lab III transforms experienced students into polished communicators. This lab focuses on academic writing, research skills, rhetorical structure, literary analysis, and professional-grade writing. Students build portfolios, engage in structured critique, and practice real-world writing formats.
Students learn to:
- Develop and defend clear arguments
- Write essays, editorials, and analytical pieces
- Conduct research and cite credible sources
- Strengthen grammar, clarity, and precision
- Create polished, publication-ready work
